Fitness Classes

Balance & Conditioning
 

A dynamic 4-part class designed to enhance overall strength and stability. Balance training to improve coordination and stability. Resistance training with dumbbells and bands. Cardio training to improve heart health and endurance. Followed by a relaxing recovery stretch. Low/medium intensity & moderate variation as required.

Barre Fitness

Blend classic  ballet, yoga & pilates strengthening exercises with fitness. Powered by energizing, heart pumping  music that makes you want to move. This class uses choreographed movement  patterns with the support of a ballet barre to take you through a flow of high-powered sequences.

Bone Building Health  & Muscle Strength

This class will use free weights to help keep your bones strong while increasing muscle strength, improve posture, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Hips, lower back and wrists as well as your core will be targeted. Mat work is incorporated.  

Chair Yoga

Chair-based yoga offers the same benefits as traditional yoga, like boosting strength, flexibility, and mental well-being.

Dynamic Movement

Suitable for all levels of fitness. It places attention on our physical and mental wellness.  You will be guided through mindful breathing, functional movements, and relaxing stretches. By performing lymphatic self-massage you assist the immune system, releasing tension with feet care techniques, and resetting the nervous system with somatic exercises. You’ll leave feeling refreshed & rejuvenated. Chairs can be used during the mat component of the class.

Fit & Tall

This program focuses on Posture, Core and Balance; low impact standing-sitting exercise will challenge your equilibrium and coordination using different fitness props. Good for all fitness levels with modifications provided.

Functional Fitness

Functional fitness moves focus on balance, core strength, endurance and multi-joint flexibility.  Class begins with a quick 2 min. about your  body’s muscles. Followed by 20 mins of cardio, 20 mins of functional strength training, 10 mins. of balance training and 10 mins. of stretching. Focuses on activities of daily living. Great for all levels.  

Gentle Yoga

This invigorating yoga based class rejuvenates your brain, challenges your balance, tones and strengthens all your muscles and bones. The standing moves are taught in varying levels behind a chair so you can be safely guided from pose to pose. Each pose is held for an intermediate level of time & mat based moves encompass last 30% of class.

Hatha Yoga

Strengthen, stretch, tone and relax. Whether trying to get in shape, cope with tension or relieve tightness in your body, Hatha yoga is the classical form of yoga postures and breathing techniques that revitalize the body physically and mentally. It increases muscle tone and improves flexibility and concentration. Open to all levels of fitness.

Kick & Be Fit

Boxing drills with a high intensity but low impact workout with great music that will leave you glowing and energetic; second part of the class is mat exercise followed by peaceful stretching.

Pilates

Molded to suit ages 50 and up. The exercises are taught on the mat and focus on lengthening and   strengthening all your  muscles with the main focus on increasing lung capacity, core strength and flexibility to encourage healthier, injury free bodies.

Sit & Fit

Balance isn’t something the body automatically has. Your brain has to teach your body balance. Standing behind and holding on to a chair while slowly doing simple balance exercises combined with a seated portion of the class improves your posture by realigning the vertebrae of your spine, eventually allowing you to stand taller and straighter.

Stretch Class

This class explores yoga postures, focusing on lengthening and toning your muscles. You'll use Bender balls, yoga blocks, chairs and the wall to help you tuck into those hard to reach tension areas, such as hip and shoulders. And you'll practice better pelvic alignment promoting longer, more supple hamstrings.

Total Body Fitness

This class starts with a warm up, and cardio exercises, followed by muscle conditioning and balance exercises and will conclude with a cool down and relaxation. This class is good for a beginner and will still satisfy the  moderately fit.

Weight Training

Strengthen & Stretch with balance. Using your own body weight and bands in a series of strengthening exercises & balance drills and a relaxing stretch to end class.

Yin Yoga

A slower pace style of yoga that incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine with postures. Consists Fewer poses work the connective tissue of the body; the tendons, ligaments and fascia.  Working these parts of our bodies assists with arthritis, stiffness and mobility issues. Yin Yoga teaches a deeper breath which calms body and mind and is a beautiful balance to the   
Yoga flow.

Zumba

Zumba is a great opportunity to exercise and have fun while doing it. Dance to great music and burn a tonne of calories.
